Google Earth is a programme similar to a Geographic Information System (GIS) that allows you to view 3D images of the planet, combining satellite photographs, maps and the Google search engine.

Google Earth is installed in our computer and is connected to a database in a server shared with Google Maps. Through the stream technology, the programme is connected to the server and displays the requested content on the computer screen.

It allows you to enter the name of a street and get the exact address, a map or a view of the area. You can also see images of the planet via satellite. It offers 3D characteristics for example to give shape to valleys and mountains, in some cities even the buildings are three dimensional.

How does it works?

The way to move through the screen is easy and intuitive, with easy to use control panels.

It is also possible to share links with other users, measure geographic distances, see the height of a mountain, see faults, volcanoes and change from a horizontal to vertical view.
